In 2017 as an initiative under the Mount Vernon Seventh Day Adventist Church weekly gatherings of concerned community members, local service providers, agencies, resources, and individuals experiencing homelessness met to collaborate on finding workable solutions. Known as "Friday Morning Conversations" igniting a passion within the unhoused attendees, inspiring them to make a positive change in their lives and the community. Recognizing the need for change, Welcome Home Skagit officially became a nonprofit organization on February 6, 2019.
Our amazing team is committed to helping those experiencing homelessness. Made up of those with lived experience, concerned members of the community, and all with the passion to make a difference in our community by taking our convictions and turning them into actions. Our team is dedicated to provide a 'hand up' to the unhoused in a positive, supportive, and trauma informed manner while assisting the unhoused navigate the resources that lead to stable housing.
To make a maximum positive effort for our community. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. Our mission is to create pathways to community living that remove barriers to housing stability throughout Skagit County.
