Welcome Home Skagit began in 2017 as an initiative of the Mount Vernon Seventh Day Adventist Church. Through weekly gatherings known as “Friday Morning Conversations,” concerned community members, local service providers, agencies, and individuals experiencing homelessness came together to collaborate on practical solutions to homelessness.
These conversations inspired hope, strengthened community connections, and encouraged participants to create positive change in their own lives and throughout Skagit County. Recognizing the need for a lasting, community-led response, Welcome Home Skagit officially became a nonprofit organization on February 6, 2019.
Our dedicated team is committed to supporting people experiencing homelessness with compassion, dignity, and respect. Made up of individuals with lived experience and caring community members, we turn our shared commitment into meaningful action.
